Redmine Orangutan - Enhancement #974 (Open): Rich text/formatting supporthttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/9742010-10-12T17:25:15ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

Many times I thought it would be great if text written by Orangutan would be “colorized”... This way we can highlight urgent issues, highlight important part of messages etc.

Preliminary research if it is possible did not give any results. Looks like XMPP library used does not support this (rich text messages). But... Should it stop us? There is always possibility to improve things even if this is third party lib...

Any help (with research e.g.) would be appreciated!
Orangutan::Redmine - Feature #606 (Closed): Watching issues and projectshttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/6062010-06-27T21:38:03ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

Request for support of queries:

User: Watch #509
User: Watch Orangutan

“Watching” projects can be provided by the third party module PluginNewIssueAlerts (see #509).
Orangutan - Enhancement #604 (Closed): Support aliases for user requestshttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/6042010-06-25T20:43:22ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

What about this:

Orangutan could support aliases of requests...
Saying user tells:

User: When I type "TODO" treat is as "Show my issues for Orangutan"
Orangutan: Ok, I will.

So when Orangutan receives a message from user it checks aliases list and if the message is present there “translates” request to what user specified.
This would be something similar to bash shell aliases (if you know what is this).
In other words aliases will allow you to specify short quesries for the queries you use often.

So what do you say?
Orangutan::Redmine - Feature #553 (Closed): Votinghttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/5532010-06-15T13:32:51ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

A special context can be added to allow voting for issues...

Sample queries:

User: Vote for #470
User: I like #470
User: I do not like #470

Orangutan::Redmine - Improvement #512 (In Progress): Detect lunch time when suggesting taskshttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/5122010-06-08T13:01:14ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

When it is not enough hours WorkHours context currently suggests tasks assuming that lunch time is 13:00 - 14:00 for everyone. But this time may differ for employees...

The WorkHours context should be able to “detect” the lunch time of an employee by extracting it from previous database records. Currently similar is done to detect work hours...

I do not use WorkHours context mostly because lunch time is not detected correctly...
Orangutan::Redmine - Feature #453 (Closed): Daily reporthttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/4532010-05-29T06:38:28ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

In the older days when we were using OrangeHRM it was very easier to see how much hours did you spend per day during month f.e... This is needed to “fix” days missing some hours. In Redmine I did not find any usable way to do similar things...

Orangutan could help here... Let’s see some possible query:

User: Show days for last month
Orangutan: Catch it:
Mon, May 17, 2010 - 8 hours
Tue, May 18, 2010 - 6 hours
...

Orangutan::Redmine - Feature #284 (Closed): Support adding past tasks without start and end timeshttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/2842010-04-27T13:18:10ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

Redmine does not require user to specify start and end times. Currently Orangutan does require this...

User which used to Redmine can try adding tasks without these times. And I believe that Orangutan should support this as this is a feature of Redmine.

Possibly AddTask context should be modified or new context should be added...
Orangutan::Redmine - Feature #230 (Open): Starting task/time entry and new issue at the same timehttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/2302010-04-16T00:31:36ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

In the testing phase most of their time developers fix bugs. Mostly these are small bugs. So it can be a headache to add issues to Redmine and then to add time logs using Orangutan...

The idea is to create a context which would allow to create issue and time log with one “command”.

The syntax can be:

User: Fixing new issue: Dialog is shown incorrectly [high]

Orangutan::Redmine - Enhancement #185 (Closed): Issue notificationshttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/1852010-04-01T19:41:30ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

Messenger notifies a user when some changes are made to an issue the user is “interested” in. This can be done for Orangutan as well.
Orangutan::Redmine - Feature #182 (Closed): Assigning issue to a userhttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/1822010-04-01T19:04:21ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

Orangutan should allow assigning an issue to a user.

Some samples/ideas:

User: Assign #128 to s-andy
User: Assign #128 to me

Orangutan::Redmine - Feature #180 (Open): Issue status changinghttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/1802010-04-01T18:58:12ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

As far as most of the work with an issue is going to be done using Orangutan it would be very useful to be able to change issue status using some special context.

Some samples and ideas:

User: #128 is new
User: Resolve #128
User: Close #128

In addition the context should be called when issue is changed to be 100% done (e.g.). Of course, it should ask for confirmation:

Orangutan: So should I change its status to "Closed"?
User: Yes
Orangutan: Ok.

Orangutan::Redmine - Feature #171 (Closed): Changing done ratio and hintinghttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/1712010-03-31T18:46:27ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

Redmine allows to set how much work is already done for the issue in percents. In practice I believe people will forget to change this value. So Orangutan could help here as well...

Let’s call some context after each task completion (on “end” event). The context should be able to calculate done percentage using start date, due date and estimated hours. If it succeeds to calculate this it can suggest a user to change percentage to the specified value. If user agrees or just do not answer - the context can save suggested value.

The context should also allow specifying different value on the question.

The context should also allow to set the value without any requests from Orangutan.

When calculating the context should take into account previous values (that is if task goes too slowly the context should be able to recognize this and suggest the corrent value). Not sure how to do this however (even if possible to)...

Some suggestions:

Orangutan: It looks like it's time to change done to 50% for #170. May I do this?
User: Use 60%
Orangutan: Wow! Cool...

User: Set done to 50% for #170
Orangutan: Done.

Orangutan - Bug #126 (Closed): Recover status changes after restarthttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/1262010-03-09T17:49:50ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

UnfinishedTask context depends on status changes. It seems (need to check) that currently Orangutan “forgets” status changes after restart and does not ask a user to stop/break the task as expected. Perhaps in Init event it is possible to “recover” status changes and insert UnfinishedTask.
Orangutan - Improvement #125 (Closed): Create a special contexts for handling numbershttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/1252010-03-09T17:49:01ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

Some of contexts print a list of something, for example list of questions (Help), list of tasks to add (WorkHours) etc. It would be nice to have these lists numbered and to have an option to specify a number (this way selecting a particular item). This context should be similar to YesNo. Changes to contexts providing lists are required too.
Orangutan::Redmine - Feature #124 (Open): Let users specify what they did during a break by answe...http://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/1242010-03-09T17:47:14ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

Saying I’m working on something and suddenly my manager asks me to attend a meeting. Saying the meeting lasts for an hour. When I get back Orangutan asks me if he should record a break. That’s fine! But it would be cool if I could answer something like: “Yes... I had a meeting with my manager.”. And he would add this as a task.
