Redmine Projects - Bug #2379 (Won't Fix): Google OpenIDhttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/23792015-04-30T07:00:20ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

Quote from user report:

I was using the Google Login, but haven’t been logging in for a long period. Today I wanted to update my profile but login fails.
I tried two ways:

Login by clicking on that Google logo. This doesn’t work but is forwarding me to this page: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6206245?p=openid&rd=1

When entering the profile link it causes an “Internal Error” at your Redmine instance.

Please take care of those issues, I would like to update my profile with proper company information...

Some time ago I have found a bug in the version of Redmine I’m using and fixed it. Now I just thought it would be “nice” to share:

The Meta plugin solves the issue with description and keywords... But there are a lot of other things it would be good to have...

The list is to be expanded but now I see at least:

Authoring information:

http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=1229920

Site links (very important for Redmine):

http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=47334

Schema.org things:

http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2011/06/introducing-schemaorg-search-engines.html

etc

P.S. Looks like Meta plugin is to be renamed to something like “SEO”...
Projects - Bug #1805 (Won't Fix): Requested Range Not Satisfiablehttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/18052011-07-14T13:15:52ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

I would like to hide users’ emails by default. But how do they contact me/each other then? For myself I would like to add contact form... For me it can be open to Anonymous users, others can configure this (so looks like new option “Allow anonymous users to write me” should be added).

The contact form should be available in profile (at least).
CD-Index - Feature #1722 (Open): Separate common code into libraryhttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/17222011-05-03T21:08:49ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

Currently source files are compiled into
*.o
files and then into
cdfind
,
cdindex
etc. If a new tool is added the same should be done for it. It’s not good for development for CD-Index. The corresponding code should be moved to e.g.
libcdindex
library.
Orangutan - Feature #1638 (Open): Orangutan bug reportinghttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/16382011-02-09T18:52:05ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

I’m thinking about how people are going to report bugs for Orangutan... Get URL, go for it, register or report anonymously? Too complicated! Most people will just ignore bugs...

How can I make Orangutan bug reporting easier?

The solution which came to my mind:

Orangutan can support special issue creation feature - when some special request is specified instead of local issue Orangutan creates “remote” issue for Orangutan website (which should use Redmine). He can even post this issue remotely using REST API. Of course, for bug reporting Orangutan should use issue creating contexts (maybe just in special mode). And, of course, trackers, categories etc should be taken from Orangutan website (can be hardcoded).
Orangutan::Redmine - Improvement #1602 (Open): Textile supporthttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/16022011-02-01T16:11:17ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

Redmine uses Textile syntax for text formatting. Currently Orangutan tries to support Redmine Wiki syntax by own... And does it buggy.

Perl has a module
Text::Textile
, which I believe, could be used in Orangutan to parse Textile syntax. This should be investigated and, if ok, implemented.

Perl module package: libtext-textile-perl
See also: http://search.cpan.org/dist/Text-Textile/
Orangutan - Improvement #192 (Open): SQL optimizationhttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/1922010-04-02T12:13:47ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

It should be researched how much SQL queries are done for a one request. There should be added some “profiler”... A code using SQL should be optimized to use minumal number of queries. Maybe also some “caching” should be added.
Orangutan - Feature #128 (Open): Reminder, organizer and schedulerhttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/issues/1282010-03-09T17:52:50ZAndriy Lesyuks-andy@andriylesyuk.com

Saying you have something you must do before meeting. So it would be great to create a reminder which would remind you to do this something. The reminder should, of course, support a date... Format can be something like: “Remind me to <do something> on Monday”. This is an optional feature request. Just an idea.
