Right now you can see issues count on overview page and that’s all!.. If you are working with many projects you can easily miss some issues or forum messages...

The idea is to remind more often about opened issues and unread forum messages. Perhaps this should be done only for project members...

Regarding issues we have:

• Total open issues
• Total open issues assigned to user
• Total unassigned issues
• Issues not read by user

I’m personally interested in total assigned to me plus unassigned...

Regarding forum messages:

• Total unread messages
• Total unanswered (last message of non-member ) messages
• Same for cases when I participated in discussion

While all cases are interesting only total unread has some sense...

So we have counts... I think about putting these counts on tabs like in Facebook. Also think about putting two aggregate counts near the username in top right corner... If there are issues assigned to me the count box can be brighter...
