Projects

News are great! But they are site-wide (shown on the welcome page) and huge (at least they allow huge texts and I personally use this). There is the need of smaller activities. Thus, a project manager could write somewhere:

Our project just hit 1000 downloads.

This is too small message to make it news (it can be just a news title) and it’s too important to be ignored.

This can be implemented in the following way:

• On the project overview page a user clicks “Tell” and the form opens, or fills in the small form and clicks “Tell”
• The specified text (just text, without any subject) gets added to project activities as “talk”.
• “Talks” should be sent by email and/or Twitter and be available under the Activities tab.

P.S. The idea is very similar to Twitter so such plugin could integrate Twitter.
