Redmine Category Featured Post - Project: Category Featured Posthttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/projects/category-featured-post2014-01-06T13:38:53Z

The Category Featured Post plugin for WordPress allows categories to have an associated (featured) post. Such post can be specified in the category form.

The plugin provides the Category Featured Post widget, which can be found in Appearance → Widgets. This widget should be used to display the featured post on the sidebar of the category page. To save the space the plugin shows only the short excerpt and the “More” link, that points to the full post page.
Language Mix - Project: Language Mixhttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/projects/language-mix2013-12-08T18:36:17Z

The Language Mix plugin for WordPress is an extension to the Polylang plugin of Chouby, that modifies the behavior of the default view (i.e., when no language is explicitly specified). Thus, the plugin determines languages, which look to be known by the user, using the browser configuration and shows the contents of all such languages. So, this plugin would be useful for sites, that don’t have all their contents translated into other supported languages.

The Language Mix plugin also comes with the Languages widget, that helps configuring, contents in which languages the user wants to be shown, and the Translations widget, which lets switching between translations of the contents.
ISSUE-id - Project: ISSUE-idhttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/projects/issue-id2013-09-01T21:00:39Z

Sequent issue numbers are easier to remember. While Redmine does use sequent numbers for issues they are sequent not in the project scope. Therefore on installations with large number of projects we are getting random-like increasing numbers for a project’s issues.

The majority of Redmine competitors support sequent per-project issue numbers by prepending specific project prefixes like
REDMINE-
. This plugins does the same for Redmine! At the same time the native issue numbering style continues to work fine.

P.S. When moved the issue prefix and number get changed, but still the previous issue id continues to work by redirecting to the new one.
Project Sections - Project: Project Sectionshttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/projects/project-sections2013-08-31T01:25:26Z

Redmine inclines to using dummy projects as project categories. This always seemed odd to me, as in this case we get false projects, mess of ones, that play roles of categories, and the real parent projects.

This plugin is a try to implement the real project categories for Redmine, which it calls “sections”. The primary goals of sections are: to categorize projects, group projects in the project lists and additionally describe projects (e.g., Redmine › Project Sections). The plugin also implements it in an unusual way: thus, sections are used to build project URLs, they support subsections, subsection with the same name (and identifier) can exist under different parent sections and so on.

Additionally, the plugin allows to have project, version and issue custom fields, which are available only for projects, that belong to the selected sections.
SCM Checkouts - Project: SCM Checkoutshttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/projects/scm-checkouts2013-07-29T12:27:23Z

This small plugin allows collecting and displaying the number of times a repository has been checked out (or exported). To some extent this number is equivalent to the number of downloads, which can be seen under the Files tab. As checkouts are performed upon the SCM server the plugin also implements the interface for reporting a checkout to Redmine.

The number of checkouts can be found on the sidebar of the Repository tab, if the user is allowed to see it, what in turn is controlled by the “View count of checkouts” permission.
RedPress - Project: RedPresshttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/projects/redpress2013-04-10T08:50:15Z

In brief: the RedPress plugin adds the blogging capabilities to your Redmine, so with this plugin you can have global and per project blogs.

In detail: the RedPress plugin does this by integrating WordPress deeply into Redmine, by implementing single sign-on for these systems and more. For a better experience you will also need the WordMine plugin and the RedWord (certainly, in addition to WordPress itself).
WordMine - Project: WordMinehttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/projects/wordmine2013-04-10T08:40:51Z

The WordMine plugin for WordPress allows to integrate WordPress with Redmine. The plugin makes WordPress use Redmine session cookie for authentication (i.e., implements single sign-on with Redmine).

It is recommended to use this plugin along with the RedPress plugin for Redmine and the RedWord theme for WordPress. The RedPress plugin is required (otherwise you won’t be able to authenticate) while the RedWord theme is not.
RedWord - Project: RedWordhttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/projects/redword2013-03-25T14:41:08Z

Redmine is known not only as one of the best project management applications but also by its easy and handy interface. Like WordPress Redmine supports themes, which are pure CSS customizations of the application’s basic style. Generally, Redmine has over 30 good-looking professional themes.

RedWord is not just another WordPress theme, but a “layer”, which makes Redmine themes compatible with WordPress. This means, that installing the RedWord theme you gain the possibility to easily switch between 30+ Redmine themes (RedWord itself comes with 8 most popular Redmine themes).

The initial idea of the RedWord theme was to make WordPress look identical to Redmine, this way preparing both system for integration, which can be accomplished using the WordMine plugin for WordPress and RedPress plugin for Redmine. However the theme can be used without these helper plugins as well.
Mastering Redmine - Project: Mastering Redminehttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/projects/mastering-redmine2013-02-16T11:58:27Z

Role Shift - Project: Role Shifthttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/projects/role-shift2012-02-17T12:50:42Z

Redmine definitely needs a better access control (ACL) for example to allow hosting open source and proprietary projects on the same installation. The best manifestation of this problem are Non members and Anonymous roles which are defined globally for all projects.

This problem gets resolved with the Role Shift plugin. This plugin allows you to manage roles at the project level: you can now define a shift for any role (including Anonymous and Non members).
Subscription - Project: Subscriptionhttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/projects/subscription2012-02-11T18:13:15Z

This plugin adds notifications which are missing in the pure Redmine. In particular, they are: news added for non members, new version released, new file added for non-members, new Wiki page added, code comitted to repository, new issue added and issue closed for non members, new forum added etc...

Subscription approach is different from watching approach as it allows non-members to be notified about new objects while watching allows to be notified about existing objects. To simplify the subscription process the plugin adds a form to corresponding project pages.
OpenID Fix - Project: OpenID Fixhttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/projects/openid-fix2011-12-04T12:13:02Z

Native Redmine / ChiliProject OpenID authentication does not work, for example, with Google. And I doubt it does with other OpenID providers... The OpenID Fix plugin for Redmine and ChiliProject fixes this issue and lets users use their third-party OpenID logins to access Redmine/ChiliProject.

Additionally, this plugin implements OpenID providers whitelisting, thus letting administrators control, which providers can be used to sign in.
WikiNG - Project: WikiNGhttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/projects/wiking2011-11-20T12:19:19Z

The Wiki: Next Generation plugin (WikiNG) adds some new and useful extensions to Redmine Wiki syntax.

Among them are:

User links, i.e., user mentions (with autocompletion, email notifications and list in user profiles)

File links

User-defined Wiki macros

Warning, notice and tip blocks

TODO, FIXME, UPDATE, NEW, FREE, BETA and EXPERIMENTAL markers

External Wiki links to Wikipedia, Google and more

Smileys including (!) and (?)

Conditional macros allowing to disable/enable content depending on date or project version

CSS classes, which can be used in Wiki

Note, that WikiNG is not known to be compatible with Markdown.
Extended Fields - Project: Extended Fieldshttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/projects/extended-fields2011-10-25T10:07:21Z

Custom fields support is a great feature for any product. It lets extending an object with user-specific data, this way allowing to do more with the extended object.

The next step would be to make objects “richer”... That’s what the Extended Fields plugin does! It does this by adding new rich custom field types (“Project”) and by allowing to specify RHTML templates for any custom field (based on just type or name) this way enriching it. It also extends users and projects listings (in “Administration”) by letting specify, which columns to show.
Project Alias - Project: Project Aliashttp://projects.andriylesyuk.com/projects/project-alias2011-09-21T18:48:11Z

With this plugin you can now change the project identifier! The plugin allows creating project identifier aliases. All of these aliases can be used to access project pages! And any of these aliases can be selected as the project identifier (in this case the previous identifier becomes an alias).

The change of the project identifier does not effect your page rankings. For pages accessed using an identifier alias the plugin adds
<link rel="canonical" ... />
pointing to the corresponding URL with the project identifier (not an alias).
