Creating extended profile without the Extended Profile plugin¶

Earlier I wrote that maybe I would abandon the Extended Profile plugin... Why? Because the Extended Profile is more like a script and not a plugin! It’s just something that configures Redmine using the Extended Fields plugin.

So on this Wiki page I explain how you can achieve similar¹ result without installing the Extended Profile plugin.

Go to the “Administration” » “Custom fields” » “User” tab and create custom fields using the following settings:

But it’s not enough!.. To render profile fields differently the Extended Profile plugin uses the powerful feature of the Extended Fields plugin: custom field templates.
